Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by professional oddsmakers, while this market is driven by individuals making their own predictions. Differences can arise due to varying levels of information, biases, or simply differing interpretations of the event’s likelihood. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when new information emerges that hasn't been fully incorporated into sportsbook lines.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where users buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The platform uses an Automated Market Maker (AMM) model, meaning prices adjust based on the supply and demand of shares, rather than a traditional order book. This creates a dynamic pricing environment that responds to new information and shifts in sentiment.

Several factors could influence the trading activity in this market. Any news regarding player form, injuries, or changes in playing conditions could significantly shift the odds. Unexpected upsets in other matches involving these players, or broader tournament results, might also impact trader sentiment. Major announcements related to the tournament itself, such as weather delays or schedule changes, could also cause fluctuations.
