Prediction market odds often reflect a different set of information and incentives than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring profitability, while prediction markets aim to represent the true probability of an event as determined by traders. It’s common to see differences emerge, especially as new information becomes available or public sentiment shifts. Examining these discrepancies can provide valuable insights into the wisdom of the crowd and potential mispricings in either market.
