Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often converging with—or even anticipating—sportsbook odds. However, discrepancies can arise due to differences in market participants, information access, and risk appetite. Sportsbooks incorporate a profit margin into their odds, while prediction markets, theoretically, do not. This can sometimes lead to better value on Polymarket. It’s important to compare the implied probabilities from both sources to identify potential opportunities, but remember that prediction markets are subject to their own unique dynamics and may not always perfectly mirror traditional betting markets.
