Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven purely by traders expressing their beliefs. If a significant number of people believe one player will win, the odds will shift accordingly, potentially diverging from sportsbook lines. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbooks, especially when there's information asymmetry or a strong community following the event. Examining these differences can reveal valuable insights.
