Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a margin for profit, and may be influenced by promotional considerations. This market, driven by real money at risk, can sometimes offer more accurate probabilities, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available. However, sportsbook odds can still provide a useful benchmark for comparison, and significant discrepancies may present opportunities for arbitrage.
