Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market relies on participants’ individual assessments. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both platforms. However, it's important to remember that prediction market odds are dynamic and can shift rapidly based on new information and trader activity.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of a particular outcome. As more shares are purchased for a specific outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher perceived chance of occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to its implied probability; a share priced at 60 represents a 60% chance of that outcome being correct. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of its participants.
This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Joellah Wan vs Mia Princip tennis match in Wagga Wagga.
