Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to profit by balancing action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individuals. If a significant number of people believe an outcome is more likely than a sportsbook suggests, the prediction market odds will adjust accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially when there’s strong public sentiment or information not fully priced into sportsbook lines. This difference can present opportunities for informed traders.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome.
