Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from those set by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market’s odds are driven by real-money trading. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook’s odds are inaccurate, they can express that view by trading in the opposite direction, causing the prediction market price to diverge. This dynamic can lead to more accurate probabilities, though discrepancies can still occur due to differing market participants and information access.
