Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. If a large number of traders believe a particular outcome is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. This can create opportunities for informed traders to potentially find value discrepancies between prediction markets and traditional betting venues, based on differing analyses.
