Prediction market odds often reflect a different kind of wisdom than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market aggregates the beliefs of a diverse group of traders. As a result, you may find that the implied probabilities in this market diverge from traditional sportsbook odds, especially as new information emerges. It’s common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast outcomes when there’s a significant amount of information available and a strong community of informed traders participating.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of a particular outcome. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a real-time probability assessment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements reflect the collective intelligence of the traders on the platform, and the market aims to converge towards the true probability of the event occurring. Higher volume generally indicates greater confidence in the market's price.

Several factors could influence the trading activity in this market. Any news regarding player form, injuries, or changes in playing conditions could significantly shift the odds.
