Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook odds which can be influenced by factors like public bias or promotional offers. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action, while this market aggregates the beliefs of informed traders. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both the prediction market and a sportsbook. However, it’s important to note that prediction market odds tend to become more accurate as the event approaches and more information is incorporated.
