Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, and can differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set their lines based on their own models and to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven by individuals freely trading based on their own information and beliefs. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially early on, as prediction markets can incorporate information faster and more efficiently. These differences can present opportunities for arbitrage, where traders can profit from the price gap between Polymarket and sportsbook offerings.
