Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, however, is driven purely by trader opinions, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities, especially when there’s significant public interest. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, this market dynamically adjusts based on the wisdom of the crowd, potentially identifying mispriced outcomes compared to initial sportsbook offerings.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a specific outcome in the Yidi Yang vs Xinxin Yao match. As more shares are traded, the price of each share fluctuates, reflecting the evolving consensus. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome, meaning a higher price indicates greater confidence in that result. The total volume traded influences the reliability of the price signal.
This market resolves around Oct 30, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
