Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to express their view. Therefore, discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or risk assessments. It’s common to see prediction markets move independently of sportsbook odds, especially as new information emerges closer to the event. Observing these differences can be a valuable exercise in understanding market sentiment.

On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. Higher demand for shares in a particular outcome will drive up its price, indicating increased confidence in that result. The current volume traded provides insight into how actively this market is being assessed.
