Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set initial lines to balance betting action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows traders to express their own probabilities. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, analytical approaches, or simply variations in opinion. It’s common to see prediction market odds move independently of sportsbook odds, especially as new information becomes available or as the event draws nearer. Comparing the two can offer valuable insights into public perception and potential value.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market efficiently aggregates information as traders adjust their positions based on new developments and their own analysis. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date collective assessment of the event's likelihood.
This market resolves around Nov 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Berlanga vs Shcherbinina match as reported by recognized sports authorities.
