Generally, prediction market odds often reflect information beyond what’s captured in traditional sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set initial odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, but this market allows for the ‘wisdom of the crowd’ to influence pricing. If there's significant public information or insight not yet factored into sportsbook odds – perhaps related to player form or tactical approaches – you might see divergence. However, as event time approaches, the odds on Polymarket and sportsbook lines tend to converge as more information becomes available and arbitrage opportunities are exploited.
