Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs. If a significant number of people believe an outcome is more likely than a sportsbook suggests, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, particularly when there's new information or a strong public sentiment influencing the market.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe a particular player will win, the higher the price of shares representing that outcome will climb, and vice versa. This creates a dynamic and real-time assessment of the event’s potential results.
This market resolves around Oct 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
