Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring profit regardless of the outcome, while this market allows traders to directly express their beliefs about the probability of each player winning. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, levels of expertise among traders versus bookmakers, and the influence of public sentiment. It’s common to see this market diverge from sportsbook odds, particularly when there’s strong public conviction about an outcome that isn’t fully reflected in the initial sportsbook lines.
