Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, but may be influenced by factors like house bias or marketing strategies. This market, driven by individual traders, can incorporate a wider range of information and perspectives. Discrepancies between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds can present opportunities for arbitrage, where traders attempt to profit from price differences. It’s important to compare both to form a well-rounded view.
