Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess the probabilities. This can lead to differences, particularly when there’s strong public sentiment or information asymmetry. It’s common to see prediction markets reflect the 'wisdom of the crowd' more accurately, especially as new information becomes available. However, sportsbook odds still represent a valuable benchmark for comparison.
