Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of forecasters, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically set odds to maximize profit, factoring in biases and public perception. This market, however, allows individuals to express their beliefs, which can lead to more accurate probabilities, especially as the event approaches. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, as prediction markets are incentivized to reflect true probabilities, while sportsbooks are incentivized to balance risk and reward. Examining these differences can offer valuable insights.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher perceived likelihood. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The platform’s design encourages traders to converge on a probability that accurately reflects available information and their individual assessments of the event. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to new developments.

This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the W35 Kunshan match between Chihiro Muramatsu and Ru Xi Wu. The platform will rely on established and trustworthy sources to determine the winner of the match, ensuring a fair and accurate settlement. Traders should monitor these sources as the resolution date approaches to stay informed about the event's progress and potential impact on this market.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding the players’ form, injuries, or changes in their training regimes could significantly impact the perceived probabilities. Unexpected results in other matches leading up to the event, or shifts in expert analysis, could also cause the market to react. Public sentiment, reflected in social media discussions and online forums, might also play a role, though to a lesser extent. Monitoring these signals will be crucial for anyone looking to trade in this market before it resolves.
