Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. As more information becomes available and opinions converge, prediction market prices can become more efficient and potentially more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially early on, as the market absorbs new data and adjusts expectations.
