Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their risk and ensure profit, while this market relies on traders directly expressing their beliefs about the likelihood of each outcome. If there’s a significant disparity, arbitrage opportunities may arise, attracting traders who aim to profit from the difference. It’s common to see this market adjust more rapidly to new information or changing circumstances than traditional sportsbooks, as traders can react instantly to developments.
