Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their risk and ensure profit, factoring in a 'vig' or commission. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective predictions of traders, representing a wisdom-of-the-crowd approach. While sportsbooks may initially favor one player, the prediction market can reflect a different assessment based on information and analysis from a broader range of participants. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information access or interpretations of player form and potential strategies.
