Prediction market odds often reflect a different kind of wisdom than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market aggregates the diverse perspectives of many individual traders. As a result, the odds on Polymarket may differ from those offered by sportsbooks, potentially offering value to informed bettors. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly deviates from the sportsbook’s initial assessment of the match. Examining these differences can reveal insights into where the “crowd” believes the true probability lies.
