Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant discrepancy exists, it may indicate that the crowd perceives information differently than the sportsbook, or that one venue has a stronger incentive to accurately price the outcome. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster than sportsbooks to incorporate new information as it becomes available.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome.
