Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds, especially closer to the event. However, sportsbook odds are often set to incorporate a house edge, while this market allows for peer-to-peer betting with potentially lower margins. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information available to each group, or differing risk assessments. It's common to see initial sportsbook lines move towards the prediction market's consensus as more information becomes available and the event approaches.
