Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market’s prices are driven purely by supply and demand – what traders are willing to pay for a share representing a particular outcome. If a significant number of bettors believe a sportsbook is mispricing an outcome, they may trade accordingly on Polymarket, causing the prediction market odds to diverge. This can sometimes offer opportunities for value betting, depending on your own assessment of the event.
