Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, which can sometimes differ from sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set their lines based on statistical models and the perceived biases of the betting public, while this market allows anyone to express their view. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular outcome, they can trade against that view on Polymarket. This can lead to prediction market odds that are more accurate, or simply represent a different perspective on the event’s likelihood.
