Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance betting action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market is driven by traders directly expressing their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by betting on both platforms. However, it’s important to note that prediction markets often incorporate information and analysis faster than sportsbooks, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities as the event approaches.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand within Polymarket, and is not influenced by external factors or other prediction venues.

This market resolves around Nov 9, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Maanshan tennis match between Noelani Sara Teso and Ying Xue, as reported by a recognized tennis authority. The platform will verify the result against publicly available data to determine the winning outcome and distribute payouts accordingly. Several factors could influence the trading activity in this market. Any news regarding player form, injuries, or changes in playing conditions could significantly shift the odds. Unexpected upsets in other matches leading up to the event, or even weather forecasts impacting the match schedule, could also play a role.
