Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by traders directly expressing their beliefs about the outcome, leading to probabilities that can diverge from sportsbook lines, particularly if new information emerges or if there's strong conviction among traders. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as the event approaches and more volume is traded.
