Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess probabilities. This can lead to discrepancies, with prediction markets sometimes offering more favorable odds, especially when there's strong disagreement with the broader public opinion. It’s common to see prediction markets quickly adjust to new information, potentially outpacing the response of traditional sportsbooks. Comparing these odds can provide a valuable signal about where the 'smart money' is flowing.
