Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set their lines based on their own analysis and to balance betting action, while this market is driven by traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. If there's a significant difference, it could indicate that the market believes the sportsbook has mispriced the probability of a particular outcome. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities as perceived by different groups, and neither is guaranteed to be correct.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of a particular outcome. As more shares are bought for one outcome, its price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by the collective actions of all traders participating in the market. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date information and expectations.
This market resolves around Nov 9, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Maanshan tennis match between Britney Chiu and Yuna Sugiyama, as reported by a recognized tennis authority. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine which outcome is the winner. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result.
