Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess probabilities. This can lead to discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly disagrees with the sportsbook's initial assessment. It's common to see this market move independently of sportsbook lines as new information emerges and traders adjust their positions based on their own analysis and insights.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe an outcome is likely, the higher the price of its shares will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market constantly reflects the latest information and collective wisdom of the crowd.
This market resolves around Oct 15, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The platform will rely on widely available and trusted sources to determine the winner of the match and finalize the settlement of this market.
