Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess probabilities. This can lead to differences, particularly when there's strong public sentiment or information asymmetry. If a large number of informed bettors believe a sportsbook is mispricing an outcome, this market may show a different probability. It's important to compare both to gain a comprehensive understanding of the event's potential outcomes.
