Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd. If a significant number of informed bettors believe a sportsbook’s odds are mispriced, you may see divergence between the two. It’s common to find that prediction markets are more accurate in their predictions, particularly when there’s substantial trading volume and a diverse range of participants contributing to the price discovery process.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. The market’s price reflects the collective intelligence of all traders participating, and it dynamically adjusts as new information becomes available or opinions shift. This creates a real-time assessment of the likely result of the Chisinau tennis match.
