Often, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals freely trading shares based on their own research and beliefs. If a significant number of people believe a sportsbook is mispricing a player's chances, they can express that view by trading on Polymarket, potentially causing the prediction market odds to diverge from those offered by sportsbooks. This can reveal insights into public perception and potential value.

Unexpected results in other matches involving these players leading up to the event could also impact sentiment.
