Prediction market odds often reflect a different kind of wisdom than sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market aggregates the beliefs of a diverse group of traders. If a significant number of informed bettors believe a sportsbook is mispricing the event, you may see divergence between the two. It’s common to observe that prediction markets, like this one, can be more accurate than traditional odds, especially when there’s strong public interest and a lot of trading activity.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of each share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring.
