Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different set of information and incentives than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while prediction markets aim to represent the true probability of an event occurring as assessed by traders. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, this market allows the 'wisdom of the crowd' to influence pricing. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions, access to information, or risk appetite among participants.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe a particular player will win, the higher the price of shares representing that outcome will climb. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants, constantly updating as new information emerges.

This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the W15 Bol match between Aneta Poborilova and Lujza Zimenova, as declared by the official tournament organizers. The platform will verify the result against widely available and trusted sources to ensure accuracy and transparency. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout based on the final market price.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market before resolution. Any news regarding player form, injuries, or changes to playing conditions could significantly impact trader sentiment. Unexpected results in other matches involving these players, or shifts in overall tournament standings, might also lead to price adjustments. Furthermore, large trades by influential market participants could create short-term volatility, and general public perception based on pre-match analysis could also play a role in shifting the odds.
