Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own analysis and aim to balance betting action, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular outcome, the prediction market odds will likely diverge. It’s common to see prediction markets move more efficiently as new information becomes available, potentially offering a more accurate assessment than static sportsbook odds.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous exchange where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism means the market continuously adjusts to reflect the collective intelligence of the traders participating in this market for the Crawley vs Klugman match.
