Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set their lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market is driven by the collective predictions of individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced the probability of a certain outcome, the odds on Polymarket may diverge. It’s common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbooks, especially when there’s strong public sentiment or access to unique information. However, sportsbooks may offer more competitive pricing on popular events.
