Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often incorporating information and analysis beyond what’s readily available to sportsbooks. This can lead to differences in probabilities assigned to various outcomes. Sportsbooks may initially set lines based on power rankings and public perception, whereas this market allows traders to adjust probabilities as new information emerges. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as the event approaches and more data becomes available, potentially revealing insights not captured by traditional oddsmakers.

The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and share their views, the price fluctuates, reflecting the collective forecast. The higher the demand for shares in a specific outcome, the higher the price will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the most up-to-date expectations.
