Often, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs about the likelihood of each team scoring first. If a significant number of traders believe a team is more likely to score first than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before a lot of money has been traded on this market.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who buy shares in a particular team scoring first, the higher the price of those shares will rise, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds constantly adjust based on the latest information and collective intelligence of the traders.
This market resolves around Oct 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be determined by which team—VVV Venlo or SBV Vitesse—scores the first goal in the match. If neither team scores during regular play, the 'Neither team to score first' outcome will be considered the result. The resolution will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources.
Several factors could influence the odds in this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either VVV Venlo or SBV Vitesse would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments, or even weather conditions on match day could also shift trader sentiment. Unexpected lineup announcements or pre-match analysis suggesting a change in strategy could also impact the market. A large volume of trades in one direction could also quickly move the odds on Polymarket.
