On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. As more shares are purchased for one outcome, its price increases, while the price of other outcomes decreases. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing reflects the evolving consensus of the crowd. The current price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring, allowing traders to express their views and profit if their predictions prove correct. The market's efficiency stems from the incentives for traders to accurately assess the probabilities.
