Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. This can lead to differences in implied probabilities, especially when there's strong public sentiment or information asymmetry. It’s common to see this market price in factors that sportsbooks may not immediately account for, or vice versa, resulting in discrepancies in the perceived likelihood of various outcomes.

The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective wisdom of the crowd. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds closely align with the perceived probability of each outcome, as determined by the traders themselves.
