Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, and can sometimes differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven purely by traders expressing their beliefs about the likely outcome. If there’s a significant discrepancy, it could indicate that the crowd believes the sportsbook is mispricing the event, or that new information hasn't yet been fully incorporated into sportsbook lines. It’s useful to compare these odds to see where the public sentiment diverges from professional analysis.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event's likelihood. The current price indicates the market's expectation of the result, and traders can capitalize on perceived mispricings by taking either the 'buy' or 'sell' side of the market.

This market resolves around Oct 21, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Vlasenko vs. Shypilov match, as reported by the governing sporting body. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine the winning outcome and distribute payouts to those who correctly predicted the result. Traders should monitor official sources for updates as the resolution date approaches.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before it resolves. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in coaching strategies, or even weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected results in related matches, or public statements from analysts offering strong opinions, could also cause movement. A significant shift in public perception, perhaps driven by social media discussion, might also impact trading activity and the overall price of shares in this market. Monitoring these signals can provide insight into potential price fluctuations.
