Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess the probability of each outcome. This can lead to discrepancies, as the 'wisdom of the crowd' on Polymarket may assign different probabilities than professional oddsmakers. It’s common to see prediction markets, particularly closer to the event, converge with sportsbook odds as more information becomes available and public sentiment aligns. However, early in the market, differences can be significant.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the prices adjust to reflect the collective assessment of the likelihood of either Virtus Entella or US Avellino 1912 scoring first. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds are constantly updated based on real-time demand and supply.
This market resolves around Oct 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will depend on which team scores the first goal in the Virtus Entella vs. US Avellino 1912 match. If the match ends without either team scoring, or is canceled, the market rules will determine the resolution process. The outcome will be determined by official match data, ensuring a fair and accurate settlement of this market.
