These markets track how many points each team scores in a specific college football game. Each market has a different threshold for the number of points a team must exceed for the market to resolve positively.
All markets resolve based on the official final point totals of Wake Forest and Virginia in their college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. For any market, if the designated team scores more points than the specified threshold (e.g., Wake Forest over 13.5 points), the market resolves to 'Yes.' If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the result still applies. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price, meaning neither 'Yes' nor 'No' is enforced but rather an equitable settlement reflecting the circumstances.
Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on the collective wisdom of traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook’s line is inaccurate, the price in this market will diverge accordingly. This can create opportunities for informed traders who identify discrepancies between the two. It’s common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast probabilities, especially when complex factors are at play.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different team total point values. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that specific outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy contracts for a particular team total, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability. Conversely, increased selling pressure lowers the price. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to efficiently aggregate information and produce a forecast.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final team totals from the Virginia versus Wake Forest game are verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official statistics reported by the governing body of the game. Any adjustments or corrections to the official statistics will be reflected in the final resolution of this market. Traders will be able to view the resolution details on Kalshi once the outcome is officially confirmed.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. News regarding key player injuries for either Virginia or Wake Forest would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if severe weather is expected, could also impact the perceived scoring potential. Late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale could also shift trader sentiment. Finally, as the game approaches, any significant betting activity in traditional sportsbooks might prompt traders to reassess their positions in this market.
