This set of markets tracks the point differential in a college football game between Virginia and Wake Forest, offering various thresholds for how many points the winning team must score over the losing team to settle each market.
All markets resolve based on the official final point differential of the Virginia vs Wake Forest college football game scheduled for October 31, 2026. Each market has a specific point threshold; if Wake Forest wins by exceeding the threshold, that market resolves to Yes. Conversely, if Virginia wins by exceeding an equivalent threshold, the corresponding market resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction markets and sportsbooks often arrive at similar probabilities, but they can diverge based on differing information and participant biases. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. If there’s a significant difference, it may indicate that prediction market participants have access to, or place more weight on, information not fully priced into sportsbook odds. It’s important to compare both to form a well-rounded view of the game’s likely result.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final point spread of the Virginia versus Wake Forest game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result reported by the relevant sporting authorities. The market will determine which contracts pay out based on whether the actual point spread falls within the range specified by each contract. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the correct spread will receive a payout, while those holding contracts on incorrect spreads will not.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. News regarding injuries to key players on either the Virginia or Wake Forest teams would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse conditions, could also shift the market. Unexpected coaching decisions or strategic adjustments announced before the game might also cause price fluctuations. Finally, any large-volume trades on Kalshi could indicate informed activity and lead to price adjustments in this market.
