This market assesses the total points scored by both teams during the third quarter of a college football game. Bettors predict whether the combined score will exceed specific thresholds, offering varying levels of difficulty for each threshold.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both Virginia Tech and California during the third quarter of their college football game scheduled for October 10, 2026. Each market has a different threshold for 'Yes' resolution, ranging from more than 2.5 points to more than 27.5 points. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants regardless of the threshold selected.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of bettors, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by professional oddsmakers, while this market is driven by individual traders expressing their beliefs. It’s common to see initial discrepancies, as sportsbooks may incorporate factors like public betting biases or promotional offers. Over time, the prices in this market tend to converge with sportsbook odds as more information becomes available and traders refine their predictions. However, differences can persist due to varying levels of information and analytical approaches.
This market resolves around Oct 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the 3rd quarter of the Virginia Tech vs California game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics, determining whether the total points scored exceeded or fell short of 10.5. Traders holding contracts on the winning side will receive a payout of 100 minus the commission, while those on the losing side will lose their investment. The final result will be publicly available on Kalshi.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before it resolves. Injury reports for key players on either the Virginia Tech or California teams would be significant, as they could impact scoring potential. Changes in weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also affect the game's scoring dynamics. Unexpected in-game events, like a series of turnovers or a dominant performance by one team's offense, could lead to rapid price adjustments. Public sentiment and betting trends, as reflected in the volume traded on Kalshi, can also play a role in shaping the market's direction.
